Iranian embassy representatives donâ€™t attend Ramadan reception held by Azerbaijani president for foreign diplomats

These traditional receptions show the estimation and attention given by the Azerbaijani state to the Islamic values. President Ilham Aliyev received the heads of diplomatic missions and congratulated them on the Holiday. The reception is estimated as an expression of solidarity between the Islamic countries and commitment to the common spiritual values.

According to APA, Iranian ambassador or any representative of the Iranian embassy didnâ€™t attend the reception.

Experts considered that such frosty attitude by the diplomats of Iran, which introduces themselves as a protector of Islamic values, to the great holiday of Islamic world created serious questions and couldnâ€™t be accepted by the public community. If the Iranian ambassador is not in the country, a representative of the embassy had to attend the reception.
