Center for Strategic Studies announces its report on first half of 2012
The CSS organized 18 different events in Azerbaijan and abroad in January-July, 2012.
The Center held 13 events, including 3 book presentations, 3 roundtables, 3 international conferences. The 3rd Forum of the Think Tanks of OIC member states was organized by the CSS in March.
The CSS held five international events together with its partners in January-July. Two conferences were organized in the US (Columbia University and Washington University), the international conference on topic “The role of Azerbaijan in the energy security of Europe†was organized in Paris jointly with the French Institute of International Relations and TEAS, the roundtable on topic “The role of the Black Sea and Caspian Sea in the context of global and energy security†was organized in Kyiv by the National Institute for Strategic Studies under President of the Ukraine and Azerbaijani embassy in the Ukraine, as well as the international conference on topic “Armenia-Azerbaijan, Nagorno Karabakh conflict and Transdniestria conflict: modern situation and settlement prospects†was held in Chisinau as a result of joint efforts of Academy of Public Administration of Moldova, Institute for Public Policy of Moldova and Azerbaijani embassy in Moldova.
Several scientific research projects were finished during the first half of 2012. The CSS employees published 127 articles and gave 10 interviews in the scientific journals, press and e-media of foreign countries and Azerbaijan.
The report notes that the memorandums and agreements were signed with 9 think tanks within the international cooperation. The Stratfor (US), the Kazakhstan Institute for Strategic Studies, Center for Strategic Studies under President of Tajikistan, Islamabad Policy Research Institute (Pakistan), National Institute for Strategic Studies of Kyrgyzstan, the Aleksanteri Institute of the University of Helsinki, National Institute for Strategic Studies under President of the Ukraine and the International Studies Foundation are among these centers.
