Milli Majlis speaker Ogtay Asadov met with German Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Azerbaijan Peer Christopher Stankina, parliamentâ€™s information service told APA.
The speaker said that Azerbaijan attaches great importance to the development of Azerbaijan-Germany relations. He pointed out Parliamentâ€™s role in intensification of these relations.
â€œA workgroup for relations with German Bundestag operates in Milli Majlis. Parliamentarians of the countries exchange visitsâ€?, he noted. Mutual relations are developing in economical, scientific, educational and cultural fields.
â€œTrade turnover in 2006 January-October was $288, 7 million, that is 43, 1 per cent more contrasted to 2005â€?, he said. The ambassador said that he will do his best to continue the intensification the relations. /APA/
