One more echelon loaded with weapons, military supplies and equipment withdrawn from Russia’s military base in Batumi, Georgia, will be delivered to Russia through Azerbaijan at Yalama station, Azerbaijan State Railway told the APA. A part of equipment and technique will be delivered to 102nd military base in Armenia. The last echelon expected to be withdrawn from the military base in Vaziani will be delivered to Armenia. ASR said that the echelon loaded with Russian military supplies wil arrive in Azerbaijan today in the evening. The echelon will be delivered to Russian servicemen at the Yalama station at 11.00 a.m. It will be protected by the militarized security unit of the State Railway Office, Interior Troops and Russian servicemen.
Withdrawal of Russian military bases from Georgia has started since May, 2006. 20 echelons (over 400 wagons carrying weapons, military supplies and other equipment) withdrawn from the military bases in Batumi and Akhalkalak were delivered to Russia through Azerbaijan during May-July and 3 echelons in late November and early December. /APA/
