Isa Gambar and Ali Karimli give testimonies

Baku. Shahriyar Alizadeh â€“ APA. Sabail district court continued hearing on the case of Arif Hajili, head of Musavat Partyâ€™s Executive Board, Fuad Gahramanli, deputy chairman of Azerbaijan Popular Front Party, Tural Abbasli, chairman of Musavat Partyâ€™s Youth Organization and Mahammad Majidli, department chief of Azerbaijan Popular Front Party, who were detained over the unauthorized demonstration held by the Public Chamber on April 2.

APA reports that chairman of Musavat Party Isa Gambar gave testimony as a witness. He said the Public Chamber was established after the parliamentary elections in 2010.
â€œThe Public Chamber did not violate the law in the demonstration on April 2. I am ready to take all the responsibility for the demonstration. That day the police started arrests before the demonstration. Our supporters were arrested without any grounds. Our supporters did not break windows of shops, doors of buses. The 100th anniversary of Musavat Party and 20th anniversary of Azerbaijanâ€™s independence will be marked this year. If my supporters are not with me on that important day, I will not forgive it,â€ he said.

Following this, chairman of Azerbaijan Popular Front Party Ali Karimli gave testimony. Ali Karimli said the participants did not use violence, nor violated the law.
â€œAn unauthorized action was held in front of my house. But no one was brought to justice. I watched video. Policemen violated the law in the April 2 demonstration. I was called to Baku Main Police Office and warned. I was given a notification. I refused to read and sign the notification, because our demonstration was peaceful. It can not be regarded as the violation of law,â€ he said.

Witnesses continue giving testimonies.

Sabail district court had sentenced Arif Hajili, Tural Abbasli and Mahammad Majidli to pretrial detention. The accusation against Fuad Gahramanli under article 315 (showing resistance to government representative or using force) was withdrawn. The court passed a decision banning him from leaving the country.
