Parliament approves the report of Azerbaijani government
Chairman of Parliament’s Committee for Culture Nizami Jafarov said that it was important to think over models of development of science. MP also added that scientists receive scanty pension when they go into retirement: “And that is why, young people who want to be a scientist do not show interest to this sphereâ€.
Deputy Yagub Mahmudov spoke about economic reform conducted in Azerbaijan, said that level of poverty decreased in the country. He accused some forces muddy the waters in Azerbaijan.
The deputy offered to announce Shaki city as reserve-museum. In his speech Vice-speaker Valeh Alasgarov said that the government could maintain the manat’s rate of exchange during global period.
Deputy Ali Masimli expressed concern on the delay of the issue on the refund of the population’s savings lost at banks in Soviet Period. He said that he elaborated the draft law on “Refund of Soviet Period savings†and submitted it to the Parliament few years ago.
Deputy Fazail Mustafa called the government’s report incomplete and underlined that it didn’t reflected the social and economical reality in the country: “the report says that the president assigned 17 tasks to the Cabinet of ministers. But only 11-12 of them were partially conducted. How can we positively assess it then?†the deputy offered to increase the salary of the teachers, doctors and police. Mustafa offered resignation of the government and transfer the authority to YAP’s young staff.
Vice-Speaker Ziyafat Asgarov said that the Prime Minister explained the report on the level of scientific mathematics. “Some deputies who criticize the report have no information about the scientific mathematics†– said the deputy and enumerated the successes achieved in economical and military spheres: “the state budget will have transfers from oil 15-20 years. We have oil. Why can not we use it? We must maximally use it. God gave it to us, why can not we use it?â€
Speaker Ogtay Asadov said that the report was elaborated in high-level.
Thereafter, the report put on vote. 107 voted in favor and 3 against it.
