Azerbaijani President congratulates Azerbaijani women on International Womenâ€™s Day â€“ March 8

Presidentâ€™s press service told APA that the letter of congratulation reads:

â€œI sincerely congratulate You, all Azerbaijani women on the International Womenâ€™s Day â€“ March 8, wish you good health, happiness and success.

This year the womenâ€™s holiday coincides with our preparations for the 20th anniversary of the restoration of our independence. The Azerbaijani women gained the right to elect and be elected in the years of Azerbaijan Peopleâ€™s Republic, the first democratic republic of the East, and began to participate in the socio-political life of our country. Remaining committed to the centuries-long national values our women have been the most reliable bulwark of our mother tongue, culture and morality. Modern Azerbaijani women, as followers of dignity of the women personalities with strong will, wisdom of our elderly mothers in the unforgettable pages of our history, are serving the nation and society with their deep intellect and inexhaustible potential.

Within 20 years passed since the restoration of the independence of our state, Azerbaijani women have become active participants of the national state-building process, made contributions to increasing socio-economic, intellectual-cultural potential of our country. They increase their influence year-after-year with achievements in science, education, healthcare, culture and other spheres. We are satisfied with the achievements of our women in the establishment of civil society. The stability and democratic atmosphere in the country offer all opportunities for them to fully realize their creative potential.

I hope, you, the Azerbaijani women will continue to pay special attention to the upbringing of the young generation in the spirit of national customs and traditions, idea of Azerbaijanism, spare no efforts for the future of our dynamically developing country.
