President Ilham Aliyev cut the ribbon symbolizing the official opening of the plant.
President Ilham Aliyev familiarized himself with the office building of the plant. He was informed that the plant has been operating within the â€œCihazâ€ Production Unit of the Defense Industry Ministry since 2006. The reconstruction and fundamental repair work was done in the past years. The two-storey administrative building was reconstructed according to the highest standards. Security cameras were installed in the territory of the plant. All administrative rooms were provided with modern equipments. Heydar Aliyev Museum was established on the second floor.

Then the head of state toured the production fields. In the mechanical assembly plant, the head of state was informed that series of reconstruction works were realized in the past years. The machine-tools and equipments produced in the most developed countries were installed in the plant. The plant started production of not only the government-ordered goods, but also other fields, including machinery and spare parts used in oil production sphere. Metal casting plant produces both defense and civil goods.

Fundamental repair works have been done in blacksmith plant as well. It is operating with full capacity. Galvanizer plant was also provided with modern equipments. It will process zincing, chroming, anodic oxidation and welding operations.
The president visited the special assembly plant as well. Laser engraving equipments were installed in this plant, which is based on computer program.
The head of state also saw finished products produced and processed in the plant. He was informed in details about the defense products and spare parts produced there. The plant produces 18 goods for the enterprises of the State Oil Company, which increased number of civil products from 29 to 47.
President Ilham Aliyev toured the mechanical processing plant as well. The plantâ€™s equipment park was comprehensively renovated. Two technological flow lines were put in operation there in the new production field. 57 machinery and equipment based on the latest programs were installed. Universal turnery, multiple-coordinate and vertical milling bit, vertical processing center, compressors and other machineries will create an opportunity to produce qualitative goods in time. It will produce seven goods for the State Defense Order Program. MUV-2, MUV-3 mine detonators, spare parts of AKM sub-machineguns are among these goods. The number of goods will be increased from 7 to 12 in the near future.
The head of state got acquainted with special repair and restoration and special-purpose mechanical assembly workshops. It was noted that works on improvement of T-72 tank, BTR and BRDM armored vehicles is continued successfully. That is, according to State Defense Order Program, BTR-70 and BDRM-2M armored vehicles are considered to repair and improve within the current year. Supreme Commander-in-Chief Ilham Aliyev was informed about the improvement of BTR 70 M armored vehicles and BDRM-2M armored scout cars. Both armored technique have been improved, management system had been simplified. The main thing is that risk of fire has been eliminated completely. The President also was informed about â€œShimshakâ€ high technology and simple management system project. This project has been prepared by Baku Instrument-making plant and â€œEWTâ€ company of the Republic of South Africa. The primary feature is the existence of day/night cameras. Moreover, â€œShimshakâ€ technology has laser target marker, ballistic computer and management of weapon system. One of main features of â€œShimshakâ€ is the â€œperfect fire control systemâ€.

It was noted that at present, 170 employees are working at the plant. In addition to establishment of new production sphere, it is considered to open 100 new work places and increase number of employees to 280.

The head of state also got acquainted with Matador and Marauder mine-protected armored vehicles. It was noted that armored vehicles had been prepared on the basis of the license of South Africaâ€™s Paramount Group. 14.5 mm and 12.7 mm machineguns have â€œVâ€ shaped chassis. In case of antitank minesâ€™ explosion, they protect the staff from splinters and explosive impacts.

President Ilham Aliyev watched the testing procedure of armored techniques produced at the plant. It was noted that firstly, stability is examined by inclining 25 degrees above the angle under the right and left side. Then, durability and steadiness of its power and brake system during ups and downs is examined. Vehicle depth of cars is examined in 1.5 meters water barriers. Hermetic encapsulation and firmness of management are verified during these examinations. Swinging of cars is checked during this process too.

The head of state wished successes to the staff and gave instructions and recommendations.
