The President noted that at the beginning of the year at a Cabinet meeting have been given appropriate instructions on this issue. "We are already seeing the first results of a serious struggle against negative phenomena, and will witness even greater results", - the President said.

Ilham Aliyev stressed that combating against corruption is not a campaign, not a temporary process to one or two years, this is our conscious choice. "If we really want to see Azerbaijan as a modern nation, strive to achieve development in all spheres, we must combat against these negative phenomena. Corruption and bribery is a great tragedy", - the Head of State said.

According to the Azerbaijani President, it is necessary to ensure transparency in all spheres of national life. "We take and will take administrative measures. At the same time, we must carry out such structural reforms that to eliminate corruption and bribery. Structural reforms, institutional practices will also be used in the combat against corruption. Of course, the only structural reforms is not enough to achieve the desired results. Therefore, all state agencies, departments, organs of central power and place of the authorities, all employees should in good conscience carry out their official duties", - President Aliyev emphasized.

Addressing to the public of the country President Ilham Aliyev called on everyone to combat together against negative phenomena, which impede the development of the country. "We have an excellent economic opportunity, great potential that to become a prosperous, strong, modern nation. Azerbaijan has a strong economy, carries out effective social policies, and realizes infrastructure projects. Azerbaijan passed a unique way of economic development", - Azerbaijani President said.

He recalled that within last 7 years, Azerbaijanâ€™s economy increased 2.8 times, poverty rate fell 4,5 times, have been opened 900,000 new jobs. All over the country carrying out construction, reconstruction works, realizing major infrastructure projects, stability and security ensured in the country.

"I have no doubt that these tendencies will continue in the future. Our country will be strengthened and the Azerbaijani people will live better year by year", - Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev said.
