International Conference â€œ2010 Parliamentary Elections in Azerbaijan: more democratic, more transparentâ€

Baku â€“ APA. On April 16, an international conference entitled â€œ2010 Parliamentary Elections in Azerbaijan: more democratic, more transparentâ€ will take place in Baku on the initiative of the Association for Civil Society Development in Azerbaijan (ACSDA) and Eurasia â€“ New Horizons, ACSDA election staff told APA. Members of the European Parliament and OSCE Parliamentary Assembly, OSCE/ODIHR experts, officials of the Presidential Administration of Azerbaijan, members of the Azerbaijani parliament, leaders of the ruling and opposition parties and representatives of the non-governmental organizations, totally 90 official guests from the United States and European countries will attend the conference. President of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe Mevlut Cavusoglu will also be among the guests.

The prospects of the improvement of electoral code regarding the November 7, 2010 parliamentary elections, experience of the Western countries will be discussed at the international conference. Venice Commissionâ€™s recommendations for more democratic elections will also be on agenda.
