President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev attends opening of new facilities in Gabala region - UPDATED
The president looked at the newly-constructed refrigerator-storage for fruits and vegetables. It covers 7 800 square meters and has a capacity to save 5 000 tons of fruits and vegetables. The refrigerator is operated by dispatcher point. President Aliyev looked at the fruit-assorting facility as well.
President Ilham Aliyev visited the exhibition of Gilan Holding products. The head of state was informed that eight sorts of cognac, 14 sorts of vine, 84 sorts of juices were produced in the enterprise. Gilan Holding has olive and milk production facilities as well. These enterprises are conducting trade operations with 28 countries, including CIS countries.
President Ilham Aliyev attended the opening of new coach terminal in Gabala. Two-storey terminal building was constructed in 1.5 ha area. It was provided with necessary services. The new terminal will promote the development of transport sphere in the region. It will operate domestic travels and bus travels to Turkey, Russia and other CIS countries as well, contributing to the development of tourism.
President Ilham Aliyev visited the newly-constructed settlement of internally displaced persons in Zaraghan village of Gabala region. Vice Prime Minister, Chairman of the State Committee for Refugees and Internally Displaced Persons Ali Hasanov informed the President about the work done there. There are two five-storey residential buildings and 188-seat school building in the settlement. 155 IDP families moved to the new settlement, which was supplied by water, power and gas networks. President Ilham Aliyev met with the representatives of the regional community and internally displaced persons. He congratulated them on their new houses and spoke about the work done for the improvement of IDPs’ living conditions and their employment. The internally displaced persons thanked the President for care and attention given to them.
President Ilham Aliyev also took part in opening ceremony of kindergarten, which had been built by the initiative of Haydar Aliyev Foundation. The kindergarten was supplied with all necessary equipments. There are special training rooms there. Heating system has been installed in the building as well.
Mr. Aliyev attended in the opening of Kafkaz Park Youth Centre. President got also acquainted with the new artificial ice rink constructed in the centre. The rink attracted interest of both tourists and locals. 150 people will be employed there.
In the framework of his visit to Gabala president Aliyev got acquainted with the construction of Kafkaz Sahil hotel complex. He was informed that the complex will consist of 7 level main building, 38 cottages, 123 rooms - 18 of them suit, 100 standard, 5 for VIP guests, 3 conference halls, 2 restaurants and swimming – pools.
Then Mr. president participated in opening of LAZA substation. Etibar Pirverdiyev, president of Azerenergy, informed that the construction works commenced in December, 2008. 110 kv substation was built in the restoration and modernization framework of distributing and transmitting network. This substation will provide energy supply to Gabala city, Kafkaz tourist Complex, Laza and Durca villages, and several objects. The equipments to be installed will be purchased from ABB company, Sweden. President activated the substation.
Then Mr. president joined Fitnes heath centre. He was informed that, this centre was built for tourists, that provides treatment, rest, and examination. Swimming pool for children has also been constructed. The centre includes cinema club, theatre, bowling and other sport facilities. 300 people can spend and enjoy time in the club with 80 personnel.
Kafkaz Resort hotel’s new corpus was also opened where Mr. Aliyev attended as well. The new building includes 36 standard rooms, 23 luxury and one king suit, totaled 60. There are restaurant, café and bar in the building. Mr. President appreciated the conditions established there.
