List of nominees for electing new Azerbaijani ombudsman recommended to parliament

Addressing the meeting, chairperson of the committee Rabiyyat Aslanova said basing on the 14th paragraph of Article 109 of the Constitution, President Ilham Aliyev presented to the parliament the list of the candidates for the post of Azerbaijani Ombudsman.

Ombudsperson Elmira Suleymanova, chief of Justice Ministryâ€™s Human Rights and Public Affairs Department Faig Gurbanov and representative of the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights in Azerbaijan Teymur Malikaslanov are the nominees.

Following the discussions, the document containing the names of all three nominees was recommended to the agenda of the plenary meeting, March 5.

All three nominees attended the meeting.
