Azerbaijani President: â€œWe are setting up to allocate additional funds for development of Ganja cityâ€

According to APA citing â€œAzertagâ€, President Ilham Aliyev pointed out development currently seen in Ganja city both in service field and industrial infrastructure, adding that the city is flourishing day by day. â€œIâ€™m confident that all tasks will be successfully implemented in 2010 as well. Development of Ganja city will be further provided. We are currently paying more attention to the industrial potential of Ganja city and will continue this trend. There is a need to build new industrial plants in the city. First of all, aluminum plant and metallurgical complex should be constructed. Weâ€™ve laid the foundation of two big industrial complexes but due to financial problems their construction is delayed. I think we need to reinforce this works in 2010.â€

The President mentioned that although the world hit by economic crunch which seriously affected the world economy, Azerbaijan was first in the list of countries developing its economy. â€œAs to the first months of 2010, Azerbaijanâ€™s economy increased to 9 %. It is the sign of our success which is substantial for us. Azerbaijan has not been affected from the global crunch which hit most developed countries. We managed to secure our development through purposeful policy and serious economic reforms. With overall growth of our country weâ€™ve reached a diverse economy. Regions continue to develop. Tomorrow Iâ€™ll visit the regions and participate at the opening of several enterprises.â€

The head of state said additional funds to be allocated for development of Ganja city. It will help city to flourish and modernize, saving its historical features. The President also noted the preparation of necessary works for this purpose is underway and Ganja city residents will soon see these changes.

President also noted that Baku-Ganja automobile highway will be soon completed, pointing out necessary works done for the development of city infrastructure.
