Azerbaijani parliamentâ€™s human rights committee received over 600 appeals

Baku. Elnur Mammadli â€“ APA. The human rights committee of Azerbaijani parliament received over 600 appeals in 2009, APA reports. Chairperson of the committee Rabiyyat Aslanova said each of the appeals had been considered and necessary steps taken. According to Aslanova, the appeals are mainly connected with complaints of the executive bodies, human rights, problems in civil servant â€“ citizen relations, demands without knowing rights, diseases requiring treatment abroad.
â€œWe can listen only to one side concerning these complaints and problems. But we try to help solve their problems. Sometimes Azerbaijanis face difficulties as they do not know the essence of laws. I would like the legal awareness to be perfect in Azerbaijan,â€ she said.
