MPâ€™s proposal on Azerbaijanâ€™s joining the Collective Security Treaty Organization causes different reaction â€“ <font color=red>OPINION POLL</font>

Baku. Elnur Mammadli â€“ APA. â€œIf even Azerbaijan joins the Collective Security Treaty Organization, it will not cause changes in the solution of Nagorno Karabakh problemâ€, Deputy Executive Secretary of the New Azerbaijan Party (YAP), Member of the Parliament Mubariz Gurbanli told APA.

Chairman of All Azerbaijan Popular Front Party Gudrat Hasanguliyev proposed for Azerbaijan to join the Collective Security Treaty Organization. Gurbanli said Azerbaijan chose non-aligned line. â€œWe join those organizations which members have equal rights. I think Gudrat Hasanguliyev intended to tell the West that Azerbaijan faces with difficult situation which can force it to take such stepâ€.

The lawmaker said any change in the foreign policy course of Azerbaijan wouldnâ€™t effect on the settlement of Nagorno Karabakh conflict.

Co-chairman of the Azerbaijan Social Democratic Party Araz Alizadeh said Russia would never take univocal commitment to return Karabakh lands to Azerbaijan. â€œIf even Azerbaijan will join the treaty Russia will never take commitment on the Nagorno Karabakh problem because Russia is one of the co-chairs of the OSCE Minsk Group. They will continue the course they took so farâ€.

Chairman of the Azerbaijan Democratic Party Sardar Jalaloglu said he couldnâ€™t accept any argument of Hasanguliyevâ€™s proposal. He said everyone knew that Karabakh was separated from Azerbaijan and given to Armenians by the Russian troops and there are Russian military bases in Armenia now. â€œRussians always support Armenians. Azerbaijanâ€™s joining the Collective Security Treaty will deprive it from the Westâ€™s supportâ€.

Political analyst Mubariz Ahmedoglu said Azerbaijanâ€™s joining the Collective Security Treaty and deployment of Russian bases in Azerbaijan is contrary to the Constitution. â€œThe conflict solution was delayed so long because to prevent Russian deployment in Azerbaijan. He said this idea wouldnâ€™t have serious political and informative support.
