President Ilham Aliyev congratulates Azerbaijani people on Gurban holiday

President says that the sacred Gurban holiday is a holiday inviting people to mercy, solidarity and brotherhood.
â€œOn this holy day, Muslims demonstrate their dedication to Allah, religion and good deeds, gain opportunity to be closer to Allah. Azerbaijan is an inseparable part of the Muslim world and has made great contributions to the development of the Islamic world. I want to note with pleasure that in the multinational and multi-confessional Azerbaijani society Islam played an important role in the model coexistence basing on mutual respect, formation of peace and tolerance. Our people respect their national, moral values and traditions. All religious ceremonies, including Gurban holiday are marked solemnly. Domestic animals are cut as sacrifice in the name of Allah, prayers are said for peace and prosperity of our people and state, our martyrs are commemorated. I am sure that the celebration of national, moral solidarity, good deeds and merciful feelings will also be heard during this Gurban holiday. My dear sisters and brothers, I wish you good health and happiness on this holiday,â€ President said.
