Azerbaijani parliamentarian speaks about happenings in Masalli

Baku. Elbrus Seyfullayev â€“ APA. Azerbaijani parliamentarian Ahad Abiyev briefed journalists about the arrest of businessman Chingiz Hashimov and his son Yaver Hashimov in Masalli, APA reports. Abiyev said the happenings in Masalli should be analyzed properly. The parliamentarian called on everybody to be unbiased and added that about 4000 people held a protect action in Masalli.
â€œWhen the parliamentarians were in Masalli, the local residents informed them about the real situation. I do not have conflict with anyone. I expressed my opinion on the illegal arrest of Chingiz Hashimov and his son. I do not have close contacts with Chingiz Hashimov. Chingiz Hashimovâ€™s uncle Adalat Hashimov holds high post in the Prosecutor Generalâ€™s Office. I asked Adalat why he had not expressed his opinion on Chingizâ€™s arrest. He said he was not allowed to leave the room. All law-enforcement bodies are aware of the case,â€ he said.

Ahad Abiyev said he could not meet with officials in the Presidential Administration.

He accused head of Masalli executive office Gazanfar Agayev.
â€œEverybody understands that there are irregularities in Masalli. My words are grounded and I will prove them,â€ he said.

Abiyev said the person, who was appointed director of Masalli Central Post Office a week ago, had been arrested for bribery before.

â€œI am not afraid of any threats for saying this. I am the member of YAP and not afraid of anyone as YAP member,â€ he said.
