Ramil Usubov receives members of Ago Monitoring Group

Baku â€“ APA. Azerbaijanâ€™s Interior Minister, Colonel-General Ramil Usubov received the members of Ago Monitoring Group of the Council of Europe Committee of Ministers, the ministryâ€™s press service told APA. Ramil Usubov gave brief information about the function of the Interior Ministry and said as a result of the measures taken to harmonize the activity of the police with the democratic changes, the efficiency of the service, observance of democratic principles, human rights and freedoms increased. Interior Minister said as a result of the activities carried out together with the international organizations, Special Teaching Program was prepared to observe the human rights and freedoms, basing on this document, workshops are conducted in the Police Academy.
It was noted regretfully that despite all necessary measures, there still are officers violating the law. Tens of officers were punished, even held accountable for violation of law.

Head of Ago Group Stelian Stojan was satisfied with the activities carried out in Azerbaijan, expressed his confidence that the law-enforcement bodies will continue taking active part in the process of the democratic reforms carried out in the country with the support of the Council of Europe.
