18 years have passed since shooting down of Mi-8 helicopter in Garakend – FULL LIST OF VICTIMS
A number of government figures and journalists were killed as a result of that tragedy. Secretary of State Tofig Ismayilov, Prosecutor General Ismet Gaibov, Counselor of State and former Interior Minister Mohammad Asadov, members of the parliament Vagif Jafarov, Veli Mammadov, Deputy Prime Minister Zulfu Hajiyev, department chief of the President’s Office and journalist Osman Mirzayev, deputy interior minister of Kazakhstan Sanlal Serikov, reporter of the Azerbaijan State Television Ali Mustafayev were among the 22 people killed in the helicopter crash.
