Parliament’s Social Policy Committee holds meeting

Baku. Elbrus Seyfullayev – APA. Social Policy Committee of Milli Mejlis (Azerbaijani parliament) held its meeting on Thursday. According to APA, the committee chairman Hadi Rajabli said the parliament was expected to adopt a number of important documents in the field of social legislation during its autumn session. He said draft laws on “Reproductive health and family planning”, “Salt iodization”, “Social activity”, “Restriction of tobacco and its products” and “Ceremonies” were on agenda of the parliament’s social committee now.

Rajabli said amendments would be made to the Labor and Family Code in the autumn session. “There are about 100 amendments to the Family Code. The amendment to the law on “Labor pensions”, as well as setting the pensions in accordance with the labor experience are also on the agenda. The amendment to the Labor Code is expected to concern the strengthening of protection of martyr’s families”.
