CEC organizes training for electoral officials

Baku. Elnur Mammadli â€“APA. The Central Election Commission organized training courses for chairmen of electoral district commissions. The participants visited Heydar Aliyevâ€™s memorial at the Alley of Honor on Monday, APA reports. In the welcoming ceremony at the Public Administration Academy, CEC chairman Mazahir Panahov said this event was held within the fulfillment of presidential order about the approval of National Action Plan for protection of human rights in the Republic of Azerbaijan. Panahov noted that there is an improved Electoral Code and conditions for democratic elections in Azerbaijan.

Chief of lawmaking and legal examination department of the Presidential Administration Shahin Aliyev called the municipal elections as one of the important institutions in the public administration and emphasized the importance of these courses for the electoral commissions before the elections. â€œThe municipal election is very difficult procedure because there are many participants and it causes many complaints. As a result of improvement of the Electoral Code, the appropriate organizations could operationally investigate the complaintsâ€.

Chief of the territorial administration department of the Presidential Administration Zeynal Nagdaliyev spoke about the state of electoral commissions, preparations for the elections and the country leadershipâ€™s attitude to the elections. He said the commissions were in high level. He said there was no problem with the lists of voters.

Chairman of the Constitutional Court Farhad Abdullayev and chairman of the parliamentary committee Arif Rahimzadeh made reports on â€œThe implementation of election rights giving by the Constitution of the Republic of Azerbaijan and amendments to the Constitutionâ€ and â€œLegal basis of the municipalities and basis of their statusâ€.

The course will last for a week.
