According to him, Azerbaijanis are more actively involved in projects and events organized by TEAS in foreign countries: “In general, we are trying to implement projects and carry out various activities, primarily involving Azerbaijanis, because there’s a big difference between the participation of Azerbaijanis and foreigners in these activities. There are many Azerbaijanis who actively assist us in our activities”.

Tale Heydarov said the European Azerbaijan Society is trying to help solve the problems of our compatriots who are studying abroad: “Whenever they have any problem with their education, we either try to help them as a society or direct them to relevant authorities. But honestly, Azerbaijanis often request to the society to support us in propagating Azerbaijani issues. Now Azerbaijanis’ voice on the Nagorno-Karabakh issue sounds louder. But there’s plenty of work to do in this area. Unluckily, not all of the Azerbaijani youth are very active. This stands to various reasons; Some don’t have enough time, others cannot participate in these activities because of their education, and some are just reluctant.

Tale Heydarov said that we need to work a lot to deliver Azerbaijan’s true voice to the world community: “Because, Armenians are very active in this issue. But we have a numerical superiority. Our voice needs to be louder. We should work a lot in terms of efficiency and effectiveness of our activities. TEAS continues its activities in this regard. At the same time, much of burden fall on individuals. One letter to be sent from regions to a journalist or a MP can change a lot. Individual work can be carried out without involvement of our community.”

Tale Heydarov noted that the European Azerbaijan Society is implementing a number of projects: “A collection of different articles about Karabakh by Azerbaijani and foreign authors in Russian has been published in a book. The book will be presented in the near future and is planned to be translated into Azerbaijani and English. At the same time, the articles about Khojaly genocide that have been published by foreign media outlets up to now are also being collected. Moreover, we are collecting the statements by international organizations on the Karabakh conflict. An exhibition of photographs depicting the nature and various aspects of Azerbaijan is expected to be held in European countries. Works are underway to collect different books reflecting our country and history in Turkish. We also plan to implement similar projects in French. We are going to inform European politicians about the realities of Karabakh.”

TEAS Chairman also touched upon the untrue reports of local and foreign media outlets about Azerbaijan: “We can view this issue in two ways. First, the foreign media, especially influenced by Armenian lobby always intend to underestimate the work done for the benefit of Azerbaijan, and it is natural. But unfortunately, some Azerbaijani journalists publish foreign media reports without understanding its essence. It is regretful. On the other hand, every journalist has the right to objectively study certain issues and present evidences. I support this right. Every journalist, no matter whether he or she is an Azerbaijani or a foreigner, he or she can freely express his or her opinions. It is normal.”
