Investigation relaunched on beating of Paris-based House of Azerbaijan Chairperson by Armenians

She said that the investigation, which was suspended under the pressure of Armenians, was relaunched basing on the complaints of the House of Azerbaijan.

“There is a different system. The investigation is being conducted under the judge supervision. Judge of the Paris Court Guantine Dandor is dealing with the case. Currently, videos are being viewed, witnesses testified. The court day will be fixed after the conclusion of all proceedings,” she said.

Attending the event entitled "Sumgait events after 25 years: the present situation and future prospects for the people of Nagorno-Karabakh" held by the Armenian Issues Bureau in France with the attendance of representatives of the Armenian-French community and several members of the French Parliament in the French National Assembly, the members of Azerbaijani Diaspora informed the participants that February 26 is the 21st anniversary of the Khojaly genocide in Azerbaijan. Though their position caused serious objection, the members of Azerbaijani Diaspora resolutely said that the views voiced on Sumgait events are not based on historical facts. Following this, instigated by French parliamentarian Francois Roshebloun the participants attacked and brutally beat the head of Azerbaijani Diaspora and Azerbaijani student. The participants, including members of the French Parliament who attended the meeting did not try to prevent the atrocity. Though the Paris Prosecutor’s Office launched a criminal case, but then it was suspended. The reason was given a lack of evidence.
