The press service of the State Committee for Work with Diaspora told APA that Ehud Barak, who served as Prime Minister from 1999 to 2001, held the posts of Minister of Defense, Internal Affairs and Foreign Affairs and other posts in various years, will visit Baku on April 27-30.

The aim of the visit is attending the 2nd Global Shared Societies Forum organized by the Nizami Ganjavi International Center and the Club of Madrid with the support of the State Committee on Work with Diaspora. Ehud Barak will also attend the first General Assembly of the Nizami Ganjavi International Center within the visit. Ehud Barak also attended the first South Caucasus Forum held in Baku in May, 2013.

In 2005, he was voted the 61st-greatest Israeli of all time, in a poll by the Israeli news website Ynet to determine whom the general public considered the 200 Greatest Israelis. He is also known as the only Prime Minister of Israel, attempting for the territorial integrity of Palestine being recognized in the peace talks with Palestine.
