Commemoration event dedicated to Khojaly Genocide held in Berlin

Baku. Ulkar Gasimova-APA. Commemoration event dedicated to 18th anniversary of Khojaly Genocide was held in Berlin, Germany. Several Diaspora representatives, experts, scientists and cultural workers, as well as students and aspirants attended the event organized by Azerbaijani embassy in Germany and German Azerbaijanis Coordination Center, APA reports. Delivering a keynote speech, Azerbaijani ambassador to Germany Parviz Shahbazov said that Khojaly Genocide is the most horrible tragedy of the 20th century. State Secretary of Bundestag Edward Linter made speech as a moderator at the event. MPs Ganira Pashayeva and Havva Mammadova delivered speeches at the event and expressed their regret about the West’s double-standard attitude towards Nagorno Karabakh conflict. The presentation of Havva Mammadova’s book about Khojaly Genocide was also held at the commemoration event.

Today, the march devoted to Khojaly Genocide was held in the center of Western Berlin.

Note that, the event was held by the coordinator of the campaign Samira Patzer within the framework of “Justice for Khojaly” campaign.

The Justice for Khojaly campaign was launched in 2009 by Leyla Aliyeva, Head of the Azerbaijan Youth Organization of Russia and OIC Youth Forum coordinator for cross-cultural dialogue. The main purpose of the international awareness campaign "Justice for Khojaly-Freedom for Karabakh" is to contribute to restoration of historic justice and recognition of Khojaly genocide by the world community.
