Crimea Izyum City Hall rejects Armenian reports about recognition of so-called â€œArmenian genocideâ€

The letter said that Izyum City took into consideration the message of Hayastan Armenian community and asked the standing commissions for culture, education and social protection, as well as culture and youth policy to prepare addresses to the President of Ukraine and Vekhovni Rada. The decision of the Izyum City Hall by December 25, 2009 was cancelled until the ratification of Turkish-Armenian protocols and ending the investigation of â€œArmenian genocideâ€ facts by the joint historic commission. Bojkov said final decision would be passes on January 29 and Azerbaijani community would be informed about that.

Armenian newspapers and Armenian community of Crimea reported on the eve of New Year that Izyum City Hall recognized so-called â€œgenocideâ€ and condemned those who committed this action. Crimean Azerbaijanis also addressed the Izyum City Hall demanding to recognize genocide committed by Armenians against Azerbaijanis. The address said Izyum City Hall had no legal authority to recognize the so-called â€œArmenian genocideâ€ because this is within the authority of local administrative bodies.
