US-based â€œBirlikâ€ magazine dedicated its next edition to Azerbaijan

Washington. Isabel Levine â€“ APA. The first magazine about Turkic speaking people in the US â€œBirlikâ€ dedicated its next edition to Azerbaijan. According to APAâ€™s Washington DC correspondent, on January 25, 2010, the Turkic Student Association at Berkeley with support and sponsorship of Azerbaijani Diaspora published a major Winter 2010 issue.
The new 50-page issue of the magazine features the tourism, sightseeing places, current economy and political situation, development perspectives, as well as publishes an interview with a world-renowned scientist, Professor Lotfi Zadeh of the University of California Berkeley.
The cover page of the new Birlik magazine is dedicated to human rights issues of the Uyghur community in East Turkestan. Being the first major publication under the Pax Turcica Initiative, the Winter 2010 issue of Birlik also features an interview with the Consul General of Azerbaijan in Los Angeles Elin Suleymanov, articles by the leaders of the Turkic-American grassroots organizations, scholars, business professionals and students representing various Turkic nations.
