The “Mugham in Montana” documentary, shot by famous American journalist Thomas Goltz, has won a prize in the ’Mountains-Environmental’ category at the Sierra Nevada Film Festival. Tomas Goltz informed APA’s Washington DC correspondent, 2010 Awards Ceremony and Filmmakers Dinner is scheduled to take place at the luxurious Westin Monache Resort in beautiful Mammoth Lakes, California on Friday, February 26th.

He also reminded that previously his documentary won El Capitan award at the annual Yosemite International Film Festival in California in the “short film competition” section.

The 15-minute documentary is about the exhausting cross-cultural musical road trip of the group Qadim Sharq (‘Ancient East’) across the Treasure State, with performances at Rocky Mountain College in Billings in the east, the music department of Montana State University in Bozeman in south-central Montana, the Livingston library on the Yellowstone River, and finally at the University of Montana at Missoula in the west.
