Chairman of Azerbaijan Railways CJSC Rovshan Rustamov who is on a visit to Turkmenistan met with the Chairman of the Turkmendemiryollary Agency (Turkmen Railways) Azat Atamuradov and a high delegation of Turkmenistan Maritime Agency in Ashgabat, Azerbaijan Railways CJSC told APA-Economics.
During the meeting strengthening railway connections and increasing freight traffic between the two countries, as well as boosting the volume of multimodal freight transportation along the Central Asia-Europe-Central Asia and China-Europe-China routes, the significant potential for cooperation and the necessity of recognizing these opportunities in the European market were extensively discussed.
In addition, during the visit, the Azerbaijan Railways Chair held meetings with the leadership of Turkmennebit, Turkmengaz, Turkmenhimiya State Concerns, and the leaders of the Turkmenistan State Commodity and Raw Materials Exchange, briefed detailed information on the works carried out by Azerbaijan Railways for the expansion of opportunities in the Middle Corridor.
