Türkiye is working to develop the Middle Corridor through Azerbaijan by integrating it with the Belt and Road Initiative, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan said during his speech at the SCO Plus meeting, APA’s correspondent dispatched to Bishkek reports.
The Turkish President said that his country plays an important role in ensuring access to Western markets for the member states of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization.
“Türkiye holds a decisive position, particularly in diversifying energy corridors and managing geopolitical risks. We are working to develop the Middle Corridor through Azerbaijan by integrating it with the Belt and Road Initiative. In this regard, we attach great importance to cooperation within the framework of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization,” Erdoğan emphasized.
He noted that the SCO can play an important role in establishing uninterrupted and secure transport corridors, as well as ensuring energy supply security.
According to Erdoğan, cooperation in these areas is of great importance in terms of improving the well-being of the peoples of the organization’s member countries.
