Rovshan Rustamov, Chairman of Azerbaijan Railways CJSC (ADY), one of the AZCON Holding companies, held meetings with the management of PACE Group, a leading logistics company in Georgia, which manages the terminal at the Port of Poti, and Batumi Sea Port, ADY told APA-Economics.
The meetings emphasized the importance of expanding cooperation between the logistics companies and the seaports of the two countries.
The ADY delegation, which familiarized itself with the ports’ operations, was informed that the Batumi and Poti ports, holding a strategic position in the Black Sea, have leading infrastructure in terms of processing numerous types of cargo.
ADY Chairman Rovshan Rustamov noted that railway-port operations in Azerbaijan are already organized based on a unified management principle. The successful integration of the Baku International Sea Trade Port into ADY last year has also had a positive impact on the port’s cargo handling results. Thus, in 2025, the Port of Baku handled a record volume of more than 107,000 TEU of container cargo, which is a 40% increase compared to 2024.
The meetings also specifically highlighted that deepening cooperation and exchanging experience between the Baku and Georgian ports would enable more efficient transportation of growing cargo volumes along the Middle Corridor.
