The World Bank is committed to supporting energy linkages in Europe and Central Asia, using a wide range of technical support and financial instruments to leverage public and private financing, Antonella Bassolini, the vice-president of the World Bank for Europe and Central Asia, said, APA reports.

"We support regional interactions as a cornerstone for expanding renewable energy potential and strengthening energy security in the region and strengthening cooperation between regions. In particular, the World Bank supports the underwater interconnector between Italy and Tunisia for the trade of renewable energy produced in North Africa, the integration of Ukraine with the EU, the integration of Moldova with Romania, the Black Sea Green Corridor, including the Black Sea submarine cable project" - Vice President added.
