"Uzbekistan accelerates the transition to green energy," said Jurabek Mirzamakhmudov, Uzbekistan's Minister of Energy, APA reports.
He stated that by 2030, at least 40% of the country's electricity will be produced from renewable energy sources. "Thus, increasing renewable energy in our country is our main goal," he said.
Jurabek Mirzamakhmudov also noted that Uzbekistan has committed to reducing its carbon footprint by integrating renewable energy sources with sustainable development goals in the past few years.
He further added that cross-border countries have large renewable energy resources, making it essential to combine efforts and cooperate in this area.
