"The commitment to establish the Global South-South NGO Platform for Climate Action by the Azerbaijan National NGO Forum is both inspiring and essential," said Wook-Jin Chang, head of the NGO Department at the United Nations Intergovernmental Support and Coordination Office, APA reports.
"I have been informed by the Forum that, within the framework of COP29, the Azerbaijan National NGO Forum has launched the 'COP29 NGO Coalition,' which brings together 380 international NGOs from 85 countries under a single cooperation platform. I am confident that this platform will amplify regional voices and foster collaboration. The strong support for NGOs from the Global South, which includes over 10,000 representatives from Azerbaijan’s NGOs at COP29, makes this meeting deeply meaningful," Vuk Jin Chang added.
