"We have to work with all parties," Nigar Arpadarai, UN Climate Change High-Level Champion said, APA reports.
She underscored that private-public partnership is important in solving this problem: "We work with civil society and the private sector. The private sector sees transit transition as part of its strategy. We want to involve the private sector closely in COP29. We want the COP-29 CEOs to come together. Without climate finance, private sector capital, we cannot achieve results. Small and medium enterprises are currently lagging far behind. They provide 90% of the labor market. They must adapt to the transition. About 66% of SMEs report that they have never been asked about the transition. They are outside of this process. We need to involve them in the process, there is a need to increase their access to finance. We will do this within the framework of COP29. We expect the participation of the whole society in this process, we are ready to listen to non-interested parties as well."
