"Unfortunately, sometimes religions are used to create aggression between different peoples", Abdulrahman bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Khalifa, Chairman of the Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs, said at the Global Summit of Religious Leaders, themed “World Religions for a Green Planet,” held in Baku on November 5 within the framework of the 29th session of the Conference of the Parties (COP29) to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change, APA reports.
He emphasized that the Global Religious Leaders Summit serves to strengthen connections between societies and preserve peace and security: "Environmental value holds a very important place in all the world’s religions. Expanding connections between nations is crucial. We must work together to preserve human values. We need to take more steps toward a brighter future. Protecting the environment is a key principle in Islam. All of this will also lay the foundation for improving people's well-being."
