"COP29 is an opportunity to achieve real results, to connect the climate finance and green transition agendas," Crispian Olver, Executive Director of the Climate Commission under the President of the Republic of South Africa, said during a speech at the Finance, Investment and Trade Day of the Co-Chairs of the Finance Ministers' Coalition (Netherlands and Indonesia) within the framework of COP29, APA reports.
He said that a fair energy transition accelerates climate action by investing in the social foundations for net zero and sustainability:
"The transition to clean energy requires investment in infrastructure, skills and supply chains. This requires a whole-of-finance approach, not just domestic and international, public and private sector finance."
