A resolution entitled "COP29 Peacebuilding Efforts and the COP Ceasefire Initiative" was introduced in the Scottish Parliament, the Embassy of Azerbaijan in Britain told APA.
The resolution posted on the official website of the Parliament emphasizes that COP29 is a significant event for peace, international cooperation and friendship in the world, including between Azerbaijan and Armenia.
Noted that COP29 epitomizes how climate action can act as a bridge between nations for peace and cooperation.
Support is also expressed for the "COP Ceasefire" initiative, which calls on all parties involved in ongoing conflicts around the world to stop military operations.
COP29 is said to be a turning point for international climate negotiations, and all parties involved in the event are called upon to cooperate to tackle the climate crisis in a meaningful way.
It should be noted that 25 members of parliament from 5 political parties - Labour, Conservatives, Greens, Liberal Democrats, Scottish National Party supported the said resolution.
