"Finance is not the only issue when it comes to climate change," Maria Fernanda Espinosa, President of the 73rd Session of the UN General Assembly, the former Minister of Foreign Affairs and Defense of Ecuador, said during her speech at the 29th high-level meeting on “Pathway to COP29: Sustainable and Resilient Future”, APA reports.
She said that the planet is facing a climate emergency: "The point is that our actions don't have the speed and depth that we need in an emergency. This is of course an emergency situation, and we understand that the pace of climate negotiations is slower than the pace of the climate change process. So it is not only about the financial problem."
