A High-Level Tripartite Roundtable on Green Jobs and Skills was held today, organized in partnership with the COP29 Presidency, Ministry of Labour and Social Protection of the Population of the Republic of Azerbaijan, the Asian Development Bank (ADB), the International Labour Organization (ILO), and theInternational Training Centre of the ILO, APA reports.
The event was attended by senior officials from Azerbaijan, as well as from countries such as Türkiye, China, Uzbekistan, the United Kingdom, Pakistan, Bahrain, Montenegro, and other nations, alongside international organizations. The roundtable, moderated by Mia Seppo, Assistant Director-General for Jobs and Social Protection at the International Labour Organization (ILO), focused on discussions regarding investments in developing the skills of the current and future workforce to support a just transition to a green economy, the promotion of decent green jobs and skill development in these sectors, and the exchange of best practices in this field.
During the roundtable, senior officials from Türkiye, China, Uzbekistan, the United Kingdom, Pakistan, Bahrain, Montenegro, and other countries, as well as international organizations, responded to questions from the moderator and engaged in discussions on the relevant topics.
