Within the framework of the COP29 conference, the event "Clearing a Path: Mine Action for Climate Resilience and Sustainable Development" was held, APA reports.
The event was jointly organized by the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) and Azerbaijan National Agency for Mine Action (ANAMA).
The event was attended by Vugar Suleymanov, Chairman of the Management Board of the Azerbaijan Demining Agency, Ivana Jivkovich, Assistant Secretary General of the UN, Deputy Administrator of the UN Development Program, Director of the Regional Bureau for Europe and the Commonwealth of Independent States.
The participants of the event expressed their opinion about the negative effects of mines and unexploded military ammunition buried during the occupation in the liberated territories of Azerbaijan on sustainable climate and sustainable development.
