The ecological problems occurring on a global scale threaten not only humanity but the entire ecological system, President of Religious Affairs in the Republic of Türkiye, Ali Erbas, said at the Global Summit of Religious Leaders, themed “World Religions for a Green Planet,” held in Baku on November 5 as part of the 29th session of the Conference of the Parties (COP29) to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change, APA reports.
He noted that the damage caused by biological and chemical weapons to the environment has reached a peak: "This is a serious signal. We are witnessing a dirty era where the cries of the innocent trapped in the jaws of massacres shake the heavens. Historical monuments and nature are being destroyed. We must act in unity. The worldview that distances people from their purpose of existence and puts them in a dependent state on the environment is dragging the world into disasters. The ecological problems occurring on a global scale threaten not only humanity but the entire ecological system. The current understanding of power and dominance predicts the disruption of natural balance. In this process, ecological disasters, global warming, food security, the destruction of natural resources, and the severe pollution of air, water, and soil have been ignored. This must be stated clearly. All of this has been done and continues to be done by developed countries."
