Taking into account the global climate agenda and the Paris Agreement, Kazakhstan plans to achieve a 15 percent share of renewable energy in the energy system by 2030, Ilyas Bakhitjan, Deputy Minister of Energy of Kazakhstan said during the "High-level Panel on Climate and Peace: Enabling joint action to leave no one behind" held within the framework of COP29, APA reports.
According to him, by 2050, the country plans to increase this indicator to 50%. Currently, this number is 6%.
"We generally support the initiatives of the Azerbaijani side, which is the initiator of COP29, and our intentions are confirmed by the signed documents," Ilyas Bakhitjan added.
