Declaration on Green Digital Action has been adopted within the framework of COP29, APA reports.
With the adoption of the Declaration, the parties have confirmed a total of 8 objectives. These include the use of digital technologies and tools for climate action, the establishment of sustainable digital infrastructure, reducing the climate impact of digitalization, promoting digital inclusivity and literacy, data-driven decision-making, fostering sustainable innovations, promoting sustainable consumer experiences, and facilitating the sharing of best practices.
It is worth noting that nearly 1,000 members of the digital technology community have expressed their support for the Declaration. The Declaration is emphasized as playing a pivotal role in mitigating the negative environmental impacts of rapid digitalization while also serving as a framework for enhancing cooperation on climate action and sustainability.
