"Azerbaijan has prepared its national program for adaptation measures in the field of climate change,” said COP29 President, Minister of Ecology and Natural Resources Mukhtar Babayev at the meeting of ministers dedicated to the "Central Asia Regional Economic Cooperation (CAREC) Climate, Innovation and Trade Partnership", APA reports.
He added that the plan covers all adaptive measures to be taken to achieve progress in this area:
"According to the plan I mentioned, a number of important adaptation measures will be implemented in key sectors of the economy. In my opinion, we must define the management of water resources as a priority issue. At the same time, we must further intensify our efforts to create a stable climate infrastructure, ensure the ecological cleanliness of transboundary rivers, and strengthen dialogue and cooperation. I believe that COP29 is an important platform to unite efforts and identify concrete actions on climate change. Through this, we will also be able to contribute to protecting regional water security, as well as shaping a more sustainable future for new generations.”
