“To address the challenges posed by global warming, we must invest in people, and this investment must begin at the earliest stages of life,” Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Lead Negotiator of COP29 Yalchin Rafiyev said during the COP29 High-level Meeting on Investing in Human Development for a Climate Resilient Future, APA reports.
He emphasized that empowering children and youth through education, healthcare, and skill development should be part of a sustainable society. Such investments must encompass not only resilience but also efforts to mitigate climate change: “This means preparing the future workforce to meet the demands of the green economy and reducing the climate impact of education and healthcare systems.”
