"Within the framework of COP29, we aim to significantly develop global cooperation on global climate adaptation,” said COP29 Lead Negotiator Yalchin Rafiyev, APA reports.
He said that in order to achieve effective results, the effectiveness of the tackle against climate change must be ensured:
“Effective adaptation of the fight against climate change requires not only the provision of finance, but also an effective strategy prepared by individual countries. Within the framework of COP29, the ministers of the participating countries will also have the opportunity to discuss the current topics of the conference. Our main goal consists of the formation of effective financing mechanisms. At the same time, we believe that all countries should unite their efforts in the issue of climate finance. Within the framework of COP29, we aim to significantly advance global cooperation on climate adaptation. For this, we need to significantly increase our efforts towards adaptation.
Within the framework of the 29th session of the Conference of the Parties to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP29), Azerbaijan aims to significantly develop global cooperation on climate adaptation.”
