"Countries affected by conflict and humanitarian needs receive the lowest amount of climate finance per capita," Abdulla Balala, Assistant Minister of Energy and Sustainable Development of the UAE, said during the "High-level Panel on Climate and Peace: Enabling joint action to leave no one behind" held within the framework of COP29, APA reports.
He said that in some cases, mainly developing countries receive 80 times less money per capita than developed countries:
"Gender and age differences are even more dramatic. Climate change and development projects are also less implemented in these countries. This is a fact. Many of the governments and institutions implementing these projects are in this room."
