"It is very important that Azerbaijan hosts the Global Religious Leaders Summit on climate change at a time when Azerbaijan ensured its territorial integrity," Shamil Ayrım, a member of the Grand National Assembly of Türkiye (GNAT), said at the Global Summit of Religious Leaders, themed “World Religions for a Green Planet,” held in Baku on November 5 within the framework of the 29th session of the Conference of the Parties (COP29) to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change, APA reports.
"Religions promote the protection of the environment as an important issue. Religion can be a powerful factor in the fight against climate change," he added.
