As reported, comprehensive preventive measures are being implemented to ensure a continuous and stable electricity supply for the COP29 event, including Baku city. As part of these measures, regional counter-accident drills were held with the participation of operational teams to simulate the movement of personnel, the elimination of the accident, and the flawless organization of work in the event of an accident that may occur in the energy system due to the weather and other emergency conditions, Azerenerji OJSC told APA-Economics.
The regional emergency response exercise, aimed at enhancing the knowledge and skills of the operational personnel and strengthening coordination between the central dispatcher control centers of Azerenerji and Azerishiq OJSC, primarily simulated a scenario in which, if the 220 kV power transmission lines connecting Baku's transmission network infrastructure to the energy system were to be shut down, an alternative scheme would be activated to restore the city's electricity supply in the shortest possible time.
The operational personnel of the central dispatch services of Azerenerji and Azerishiq JSCs and transmission and distribution enterprises were involved in the counter-accident exercise.
The counter-accident exercise, with the 220-kV Nizami substation of Azerenerji as its center, aims to increase the level of preparation of the electric power infrastructure for the COP 29 events to be held in Baku on November 11-24, and to increase the practical skills of operational personnel.
